Animal Search & Rescue In Yavapai County

Yavapai Humane Trappers Began With Rescuing One Dog

Yavapai Humane Trappers began with just one dog. Originally an animal search and rescue organization in Yavapai County, that mission remains at the heart of everything we do, but we have expanded into finding homes for the dogs we help. What started with our founder, Katrina, helping rescue a single lost dog has grown into much more over 10 years of dedicated volunteer work.

Our network of animal lovers at Yavapai Humane Trappers Animal Search & Rescue is committed to helping the sick, injured, lost, abandoned, and forgotten animals throughout Arizona, including on the Navajo Nation. Our search and rescue team helps reunite lost dogs with their families, whether they've escaped through an unlocked gate, bolted during a thunderstorm, or simply wandered too far from home or when on a hike.

We also humanely trap stray dogs, feral reservation dogs, and abandoned animals who have no families waiting for them. In pouring rain, in the middle of the night, and even on major holidays, our village steps up to help find and rescue dogs who need it the most. Once rescued by our team, all dogs are vetted and receive the veterinary care they need before being placed in loving foster homes, at our sanctuary, or with trusted rescue partners while we work to find them their furever homes.
